Review of ‘problem of illegal immigrants’

             Two days ago, I started thinking about illegal immigrants. Before listening to my classmate’s presentation, I have never thought about illegal immigrants. Now I am living in Seoul. That’s why I have few chances to see them. Normally, they are getting a job in countryside. I think they don’t have a special skill, so they are looking for difficult and dangerous jobs at plant. I just want to focus on the illegal immigrants having some problems in Korea.

             First of all, they are not allowed to get a job in Korea. I heard that most of them came to Korea as a visitor. When most of illegal immigrants came to Korea, they have some reasons. When they just started to work at plant, they should have made a contract with the owner of plant. Of course, the owner has known that they are illegal immigrants, so some owners just took advantage of this. They refused to pay them. I think even though they are illegal immigrants, they have a right to get a wage from the owners. Secondly, when they are feeling sick, they are afraid of going to the hospital. Most of them couldn’t afford to pay the bill at the hospital. Sometimes doctors don’t know what to do. They are obligated to take care of all patients, but they are not in a position to help all illegal immigrants. Obviously we need to make a strict process when we allow foreigners to visit Korea. It will help us reduce a number of illegal immigrants.

             In conclusion, there are so many illegal immigrants in Korea. Our government recently realized that we should take care of this problem. Some experts also said that the number of illegal immigrants in next year will be much higher than last year. The number of illegal immigrants is getting higher. That’s why we should make a new regulation. I think visa regulation and immigrations screening should be changed strongly.

Review of ‘The Popularity of Luxuries in Korea’

           Many women are interested in buying luxury items all over the world. Especailly, high percentige of Korean women have been trying to buy luxury bags, accessories, clothes, and so on. What makes them crazy about these items?? Of course, there are some men who are crazy about these kinds of items, but the percentage of women is much higher than men. I just want to talk about this situation, and think of what is going on around us.

           First of all, women want to show off their items to their friends and colleagues. I think I am not in a position to judge about this, and also understand their mind a little bit. It is kind of their instinct. Even though they are buying so many luxury items, we can’t say anything. However, this behavior affects us negative things. Normarlly, when we see some people who are having so many luxury items, we are easily depressed because we can’t afford to buy what we want. I also have the similar expierience. When I saw my friends having good items, it made me uncomfortable. Maybe I was kind of jealous of my friends. Now I noticed that I am not the one who has this feeling. Secondly, marketing strategy has changed a lot. Many big companies started to make luxury items because they believe it would be the easiest way to make big profits in a short time. Some people even think that this business could help us get a job in many companies, so it makes good results. I am not a big fan of luxury items, but I should think of this positively.

           In conclusion, we can easily see many women who are crazy about luxury items around us. Even if they make us feel uncomfortable, we should think another way. When they just spend their money buying good bag and clothes in the community, it finally help our society go well. And I don’t want to judge them. I just want to believe that they deserve it because they work very hard. What I am saying is that I want to think this situation positively.

Review of ‘Yellow sand damage’

             I have read so many articles related to yellow sand damage recently. We have been suffering a lot of things from yellow dust. I think most of us are kind of a victim from this happening. Especially, I don’t like to go outside when I heard it is coming. If we don’t want to get any damage, we should not go outside like me. What should we do if we want to avoid having these harmful effects?

             First of all, as we had already heard, we should plant many trees in china. Yellow dust is coming from china. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do now. If so, should we just get used to it? I don’t think so. We must find a proper way with china government. I think it would be a tough job because china government doesn’t seem to care about this happening. Our government should make a contract or regulation about this. We have been going through bad situations because of this. Secondly, they can make artificial rainfall. If it seems to be happening, they can make artificial rainfall. China has an enough ability to control this dust, but they don’t want to spend any money on this because they think it is wasting their money. They never must have been suffered anything by yellow dust. They must not be interested in these harmful effects. What they are thinking is that it is none of our business. We should make them understand how harmful it is. Many Korean have allergic, atopic diseases. Many doctors have the same idea that most of them have been suffering from yellow dust. They just recommend them not to go outside when yellow dust is coming.

             In conclusion, it is really a complicated matter. There is not a specific law or regulation yet. We have a right to say something to china government about yellow dust. Even though china government doesn’t want to have a discussion about this, we should stick to our thought. There has been a certain problem. What I want to say is a china government reaction. At least, they should make an effort to do something for this problem. There is not a specific solution yet, so we all concentrate on this problem together.

Review of working holiday

Nowadays working holiday is one of the big issues because this is really a good chance for students to improve their English skills. In my case, I am the one who is interested in going to some countries to learn new languages. There are several countries we can choose. Australia is the most popular country for Korean students. There must be some reasons. First of all, we can easily get a working visa from this country. I have heard that other countries have a little more complicated policy than Australia. For this reason, many Korean students choose to go to this country.

             Secondly, there are so many things we can do. For example, they can get a job in Australia, so they can save some money while they are learning English. In my opinion, if they really want to improve their English skill, they should find a proper job for themselves. One of the good jobs would be a cashier or waitress. When we just get a job in these fields, we should talk to someone for taking their orders. Unfortunately, most of the Korean students who are in Australia are working in the farm. Some people don’t have any chances to communicate with someone. It is really bad. At least, they can make some money, but they should remind themselves of why they came to this country.

             Finally, traveling is the best option for students in Australia. Of course, there are so many beautiful views in Korea. However, they can go many places in this country. Obviously, they can feel a lot of things by traveling around the country. I think experience is more important than studying English in other countries. After we finish studying English in other countries, we can continue to study English in Korea. However, there are no other chances to travel around the country when we come to Korea again. We must take advantage of this. In conclusion, there are both sides. Some people think we should go to other countries, but some think we don’t have to. It is up to our decisions. Nobody forces us what to do. If someone is going to ask me about whether I should go or not, I will highly recommend them to catch your chance.

These days there are so many students who are suffering from high tuition fee. When we just selected current president in Korea, we thought there was going to be nothing to worry about. But as we know, it didn’t seem to be that way. The tuition fee is currently still going up. While we were listening to the presentation of our classmate, we could realize how terrible our system is. Especially, I really don’t figure out why president is doing nothing about this problem. Nowadays he has been focusing on our projects, so he stopped thinking about this problem.

When we compared our scholarship with USA’s, we can easily understand how much different it is. According to article, 70% of the college students in U.S are getting some benefits from university or government, so most of them don’t have to worry about their tuition. However, In Korea, 20% of the college students are getting scholarship from school or government. I just wonder why there are so big differences. Of course, U.S is a much bigger nation than our country. But do we really think that’s the only reason that we can’t get a proper benefit from our government?

I think there are several factors. One of the big reasons is that our politicians don’t think it is a serious problem. Of course, there are so many things they should deal with, but this problem is one of the serious problems they should handle now. When they just take this problem seriously, we can hope we are getting more chances to focus on our study. On the bright side, a lot of universities just started to think of this problem, so some principles of the universities said we have no plan to go up our tuition for years. I know it is not what we wanted to hear, but at least we made them consider this problem seriously.

Evaluate of Mr. Ahn

Evaluate of Mr. Ahn

I think Mr. Ahn is one of the most famous people in Korea these days. All of us have already known about how much things he have done to our society. So, we can just call this situation as a Mr. Ahn syndrome. One day, he just said he is going to run for mayor of Seoul city. A lot of fans of him just worried about this situation because they though he doesn’t have any idea about politics. We also wonder that he is really doing his job very well as a politician.

Some people just said we will support him whether he is going to do very well or not. Some fans of him have different ideas that there are other many things he could do. We have already seen so many people who were changed after being a politician. I am also a little bit worried about this part. Most of us just thought that he doesn’t have to take that risks which are worthless. He should focus on what he has been doing in other fields. But some people still think that he is the one who can change our society much better. There is no perfect answer because nobody can predict our future. No matter how he decides, a lot of people are willing to support his idea. I am also one of these people as a fan. However, he recently changed his mind that he isn’t going to be a politician. I was relived about this news but I still don’t know why.

In conclusion, he has been doing so many great things in our society. He used to be a professor, CEO, medical doctor, or so on. Even though he recently changed his mind, I still respect his achievement. Especially, when I read a book he wrote lately, it had really inspired me a lot. After reading this book, I started to believe in myself. It is no doubt about how well he has done in this society. And I also think that he will continually influence good effects to us.             

Audition boom

These days, a lot of people started to look at auditions. I am the one who are really interested in watching these programs, which are also affecting so many things to our society. While we are watching these audition programs, I just enjoyed without thinking. But when I had heard the presentation of audition boom, I noticed that there are some kinds of problems.

Many directors of these programs just want to get a lot of attention from us, so they don’t care about broadcasting applicant’s private matters in public. I wouldn’t have ever thought about that matter. I just enjoyed watching that program. When I just realized this problem, I have a question. Who is going to take care of these problems? As soon as the directors of these programs broadcast applicant’s privacy, the participants will lose their human rights. I guess the participants have obviously signed up on the contract at first. Does that mean it is ok to ignore their human rights? Even thought I really like these audition programs, I think there are some problems we should think of.

In conclusion, I was thinking about the problem of human right. I have no idea about the law. So if it is ok to broadcast their personal matters, I have no right to say which one would be right or not. Sometimes when I just had read some news about the people who were shocked because of their own bad news, I really feel sorry. While we are enjoying these audition programs, we also should focus on some negative effects.
